About Orchard Literacy
Structured phonics resources for people doing the real teaching.
Orchard Literacy helps teachers, homeschool parents, tutors, and interventionists make phonics instruction clearer, calmer, and easier to use day after day.

The approach
A complete system should be easy to understand at a glance.
Resources are organized by stage, instructional purpose, and activity routine so you can see what to teach, how to practice it, and what comes next.
Why it exists
Premium enough to trust. Practical enough to use tomorrow.
Orchard Literacy is built for real teaching moments: clear skill focus, consistent worksheet formats, printable pages, and a sequence that supports confident planning.

Founder Story
Built from classroom frustration, reading science, and practical problem-solving.
We know firsthand how challenging it can be to help young learners succeed.
My journey began in the classroom as a first-grade teacher. I was deeply frustrated by watching traditional, whole-word reading methods fail the bright students in front of me. Everything changed when I shifted to explicit phonics and phonemic awareness. Seeing those real “aha” moments click for my students proved that structured literacy was the answer. However, finding high-quality, easy-to-use resources to support it was a constant struggle.
That is when my tech-savvy husband joined forces with me. We merged my classroom experience with his digital expertise to bridge the gap between complex reading science and practical, everyday teaching.
Together, we developed a system of clear, step-by-step phonics tools designed to empower young readers while making teaching feel effective and stress-free.
Today, our mission is to make foundational literacy engaging, consistent, and accessible for every child. Whether you are a classroom teacher, a homeschooler, or a parent supporting your child at the kitchen table, we are here to equip you with structured resources rooted in both science and heart.
Let us inspire a love for reading together.
